Big Note
UX, UI and prototyping for an AI-powered note-taking app built for long-form writing, brainstorming and cross-device work.

Big Note is an AI-powered note-taking app for people whose ideas do not fit in quick reminders: long-form writing, brainstorming, big-picture planning. We designed its UX and UI and prototyped it across mobile, tablet, and desktop.

The design problem
Ideas fade fast if there is nowhere good to put them. Big Note's promise is a space where notes can grow into projects, with AI assistance for retrieving and developing them. The hard part is balancing that depth with simplicity: an app that handles complex projects but feels as natural as writing on paper.
What we designed
- An interface built around focus. Clarity first, so users can brainstorm freely, organize long notes without effort, and pull up information instantly with AI assistance.
- Navigation and organization that stay out of the way. Even with several projects running at once, moving around the app stays effortless.
- Cross-device workflows. The app had to keep momentum as users move between phone, tablet, and desktop, so we designed for continuity rather than three separate experiences.
Prototyping until it worked
We ran an intensive prototyping phase where every interaction was tested and refined. That is where the cross-device experience was tuned: workflows adjusted until switching screens felt like continuing a thought, not restarting one.
The result
An app that works as more than a digital notebook. It is a thinking space for long-term ideas, projects, and creative work, designed so the writing stays front and center and the tool disappears behind it.
